Shoppi POS is the point-of-sale arm of Shoppi Pay. We build the till software, we resell Stripe hardware, and we take a stated margin on each payment instead of a blended rate nobody can audit. That is the whole business model, and this page is the long version of it.

How we make money
Three lines, and you can see all of them.
Most of this industry earns quietly — in the spread between what the networks charge and what you are quoted, in per-terminal licenses, in add-ons that arrive as separate invoices. We would rather print ours.

We buy Stripe terminals and resell them. The price on the page is the price, with no financing behind it.
The account

Per business. It pays for the app, the support and the servers, and it is why there is no free tier.
Per payment
0.4% + 1¢
Added to Stripe’s published rate, which we do not mark up and take no share of.
We do not sell merchant data, we do not market to your customers, and we take no cut of your tips.
What we decided not to do
The shape of a product is mostly the list of things it refuses.
No free plan
A free account is paid for in the transaction rate. We charge five dollars and keep the rate low enough to publish.
No blended rate
Stripe’s fee and our margin stay separate on your statement so you can check ours against theirs.
No per-till license
The account fee is per business. Adding a register does not change the invoice.
No hardware lease
You buy the reader and it is yours. Cancel the account and you still own it.
No bundled add-ons
The store, the marketplace and the integrations are priced separately, because plenty of merchants never want them.
No table-service depth
We are a retail-first till that bars and trucks use happily. If you need kitchen display screens, buy a hospitality POS.

People who sell in person and would like the software to be the cheap part.

No. Stripe processes the payments. We build the point of sale on top and resell the hardware.
Why should I trust the 0.4%?
Because you can check it. Compare any Shoppi invoice against the volume in your own Stripe dashboard — the arithmetic is public.
Will the rate go up?
If it ever changes we will write to every merchant before it applies, not after. It has no volume tiers, so there is nothing to quietly reprice.
What happens to my data if I leave?
Sales, products and customers export in full, at any time, whether or not you are still a customer.
