The only POS that prints its own margin
Every card reader company takes a margin on your sales. Most bury it inside one blended rate you cannot check. Ours is 0.4% and a cent, printed on every page of this site, on top of Stripe's own published rate.
Free shipping when you buy a reader with the plan.

Work it out
Providers that quote one blended rate have their own margin buried inside it. Ours is the orange slice, and you can size it yourself.

Fees
Every provider adds a margin on top of what the card networks charge, and most fold it into a single blended number so you can't see it. Ours is 0.4% + 1¢, on top of Stripe’s fee. That is all we take from a direct sale. On orders that come from the Shoppi marketplace, our share is 10% of the product value (shipping excluded), instead of the 0.4% + 1¢.
Paid to Stripe
Stripe's published rate
Set by Stripe, charged by Stripe, visible in your own Stripe dashboard. We never mark it up.
Paid to us
0.4% + 1¢
Per payment, on top of Stripe's rate. The same number in person and on your own online orders.
Payouts
Through Stripe
Payouts through Stripe Connect, straight to your bank. Instant payouts are available with the Business plan, if Stripe enables them on your account. Bank setup takes a few clicks.
Worked example. On a $40 in-person sale, our share is 17¢. Stripe's rate is charged separately and shown on your own Stripe statement, so you can check both numbers against each other whenever you like.
Stripe rates vary by country, card type and payment method. Non-domestic and commercial cards carry different rates — the 0.4% + 1¢ does not change.
Upgrades
The $5 plan covers the app and getting paid with your reader. What follows comes with the higher plans: the website from the $29 Starter plan, and modules as add-ons you buy once and keep (some need the Business plan).
A separate website for professionals, from the $29 plan, sharing one catalogue with the counter. The AI site editor is included: describe a change, the AI prepares it, you see the changed lines and apply or undo it.
Your Instagram posts become products in your catalogue; switch on the periodic refresh and new posts come in on their own (every 15 days on Starter, every 3 on Business). TikTok coming soon.
Send us your catalogue from WooCommerce, Shopify, a CSV or your website and our team imports it, as a one-time add-on. Importing it yourself is in every plan. Connections to local couriers and delivery platforms are in development.
A digital receipt by QR to save or share, product offers, and sponsored campaigns that put you in front of nearby Shoppi customers.
Each upgrade is priced on its own and paid once, not every month.
The app
Most cheap readers hand you a keypad and stop there. The account includes the product catalogue, the list of takings and your payouts, on as many devices as you want to run it on.
01 / Selling
Products with price, code and photo, special-price offers, refunds and digital receipts. Take cards on your phone with Tap to Pay on Android or a Bluetooth reader; in the browser you manage the catalogue and orders and send payment links.
02 / Shared catalogue
One catalogue for every till at a location, shareable across sites, with quantities you update yourself.
03 / Takings and payouts
For each location: card payments day by day, who took each one, its Stripe balance and when its payouts land.

If it does not suit you

Before you buy
Tell us what you sell and how, and we will tell you which reader to buy — including when the answer is that another provider suits you better.
Most-asked, before buying
Some of the answers are in the Your first day guide; for everything else, write to us.
A supported account: the POS app on as many devices as you like, your catalogue, the list of takings and the ability to get paid. The marketplace listing is part of the $5 plan; a separate website for professionals comes with the $29 plan, and from there you can add extra modules, paid once. With the POS app the $5 plan covers up to 30 card payments a month; above that, Starter at $29 has no limit.
Because an account with no monthly fee is paid for somewhere else, usually in the transaction rate. We would rather charge five dollars and keep our cut at 0.4% and a cent.
Shoppi opens your Stripe account under Stripe Connect: you enter your details and bank account in Stripe's form, usually in a few minutes, then Stripe completes verification.
Payouts run through Stripe Connect on Stripe’s standard schedule. Instant payouts are available with the Business plan, if Stripe enables them on your account.
On any reader bought together with the plan, on the shop kit, and on multi-site orders over $1,000 of terminals.
Any month. The reader is yours — you bought it, you didn't rent it — and your card payment history stays in your Stripe account.
That's a reader, an account and your first card payment. Shipping is free when you buy the two together.
